Two San Francisco Bay Space faculty districts voted Wednesday to approve COVID vaccine mandates, requiring college students ages 12 and older to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
Oakland Unified Faculty District and Piedmont Unified Faculty District are the primary districts in Northern California to take this step.
The districts have not launched timelines for when the mandate college students shall be rolled out.
Berkeley Unified Faculty District mentioned the potential for a mandate Wednesday night time.
Los Angeles Unified — the second largest district within the nation with 600,000 college students — authorised a mandate earlier this month amid a surge within the extremely contagious delta variant.
