HAYWARD, Calif. (KGO) — On Thursday, authorities within the East Bay recognized a suspect within the unsolved murders of two girls courting again to the Seventies.

Sixty-year-old Nellie Hicks of Newark and 48-year-old Theresa Pica of Hayward have been attacked of their houses in 1972 and 1979, respectively.
Each died from blunt power trauma and have been sexually assaulted.
Police say the suspect, recognized by way of DNA proof, was Fred Farnham, a convicted rapist who died in 2007 at age 73.
Households members of each victims thanked investigators for his or her persistence.
