Greenwich Symphony Orchestra mourns death of legendary leader who had a ‘divine love of music’

GREENWICH — Mary Radcliffe, the legendary former head of the Greenwich Symphony Orchestra, is remembered as somebody dedicated to music and schooling in her neighborhood after her dying on the age of 94.

Radcliffe, a local of Budapest, Hungary, handed away Nov. 17. The GSO introduced her dying in an e mail final week. She had been the top of the symphony’s board of administrators since 1983 and infrequently served as its public face till retiring in June 2020.

“She lived a outstanding life with a divine love of music,” stated former First Selectman Peter Tesei, who succeeded her as chair. “Her influence on the Greenwich Symphony will likely be felt for a few years.”
