Doug Moore, who helmed Bay Space information broadcasts for twenty years, has died, NBC Bay Space introduced. He was 78.
“Doug shared our information desk with Maggi Scura for practically twenty years,” stated McSweeney, who labored with Moore on the station for seven years. “Doug was type to everybody, from the station’s common supervisor to interns … Heck of a pleasant man, liked serving to folks behind the scenes. Moore was a fixture on the nightly information for generations of Bay Space residents. He was employed by KNTV, then an ABC affiliate, in 1982 after beginning his profession at WCCO in Minneapolis. He anchored the 6 and 11 p.m. broadcasts, watching San Jose increase and alter amid the rise of contemporary Silicon Valley.
“We’re the third largest metropolis within the state,” Moore advised the San Francisco Chronicle in 2000. “What pleases me about that is that NBC says they haven’t any downside being down right here. That is recognition for the folks down right here who’ve handled sufficient snubbing. Not all the things occurs in San Francisco.”
Moore left KNTV, now branded NBC Bay Space, in 2000.
