Longtime Bay Area TV news anchor Doug Moore dies

Doug Moore, who helmed Bay Space information broadcasts for twenty years, has died, NBC Bay Space introduced. He was 78.

Moore was a fixture on the nightly information for generations of Bay Space residents. He was employed by KNTV, then an ABC affiliate, in 1982 after beginning his profession at WCCO in Minneapolis. He anchored the 6 and 11 p.m. broadcasts, watching San Jose increase and alter amid the rise of contemporary Silicon Valley.

“We’re the third largest metropolis within the state,” Moore advised the San Francisco Chronicle in 2000. “What pleases me about that is that NBC says they haven’t any downside being down right here. Moore left KNTV, now branded NBC Bay Space, in 2000.
