What if…every part I do know is flawed.
Katy Perry has one thing to let you know — and you may wish to sit down for this one.
Nicely, guess what? You have been singing it flawed this complete time.
Katy revealed all on Instagram, accompanied by a clip from American Idol wherein she corrects Luke Bryan for singing the refrain flawed.
“It’s not ‘up, up, up,’ and it’s not ‘ahh, ahh, ahh,’” she advised him. So what’s it?!?!
“It’s ‘awe, awe, awe,’ all people. Get it proper!” she continued as her and Luke playfully went backwards and forwards.
“FOR THE OFFICIAL RECORD,” she wrote within the IG caption, “it’s AWE not UP…it’s FIREWORK not FIREWORKSSS.”
Katy additionally shared an excerpt of an editorial that reveals “Firework” was impressed by novelist Jack Kerouac’s traditional 1951 novel On the Highway — which, I will be trustworthy, was new to me!
Anyway, we will all now safely sing “Firework” realizing that we have got the lyrics proper. Thanks, Katy!
